ASSIGNMENT 3 Chapter 4

This assignment is due by Friday at midnight. You MUST use your own handwriting.

PART 1 (4 points): Discuss the process by which equilibrium prices and quantities are formed. How do you know you are in equilibrium? How do you know you are not in equilibrium? Imagine you are in charge of your own firm. Originality counts.

PART 2 (3 points): Give the factors which might shift the demand for a product that your store sells. Change one of these factors, and work your way to a new equilibrium.

PART 3 (3 points): Give the factors which might shift the cost of supplying that 6same product. Change one of the factors, and work your way to a new equilibrium.[supanova_question]

Assignment 3 will be comprised of six Journal Reflections. You will complete the journal entries and submit your answers within this assignment.  This assignment should be completed in ONE document, and your answers should be separated by Journal Reflection # headings (1-6).  Please contact your instructor using Canvas Messages with any questions you may have.

Journal Reflection #1

Provision 4: “The nurse is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse’s obligation to provide optimum patient care.”

Imagine you are the head nurse in a senior living facility. You have 36 residents; normally there are two nurses with four nursing assistants. It is night shift, and the other nurse was in an accident on the way to work. Hence, it is you, 36 residents, and four CNAs. One of the CNAs is due to graduate from nursing school in one month. 30 of the 36 patients have 9 PM medicine due.

To get medicine to the patients on time, would you allow the CNA who is close to finishing school to help administer the medicine? Would this be an appropriate delegation of tasks, considering that an RN must complete medication administration? Which is more important: delegation of tasks or timely medication administration for patients?

Journal Reflection #2

Provision 5: “The nurse owes the same duties to self as to others, including the responsibility to preserve integrity and safety, to maintain competence, and to continue personal and professional growth.”

Imagine you are nurse who is six months pregnant (guys, stretch that imagination). You arrive to the hospital and check your patient assignment. One patient in your assignment is receiving high-dose chemotherapy medication, which, in this case, is contraindicated for pregnant women to administer. You ask the charge nurse to change the assignment, and he refuses based on the acuity of the patient. He notes that other nurses on staff tonight are too new to care for such a sick patient.

Who is ethically right: the charge nurse trying to ensure a high-acuity patient has appropriate nursing care or you the nurse? Build an argument for your opinion.

Journal Reflection #3

Provision 6: “The nurse participates in establishing, maintaining, and improving health care environments and conditions of employment conducive to the provision of quality health care and consistent with the values of the profession through individual and collective action.”

How would a nurse contribute to the values of the nursing profession on an individual basis and through collective action?

Journal Reflection #4

Provision 7: “The nurse participates in the advancement of the profession through contributions to practice, education, administration, and knowledge development.”

Why would the advancement of the profession of nursing be included in a code of ethics? How do ethics and advancing professional practice relate to one another?

Journal Reflection #5

Provision 8: “The nurse collaborates with other health professionals and the public in promoting community, national and international efforts to meet health needs.”

To what extent are medical personnel responsible for caring for community, national, and international health care needs? Comment on each type of need: community, national, and international. What role does an individual, a hospital system, and the larger federal government play?

Journal Reflection #6

Provision 9: “The profession of nursing value, for maintaining the integrity of the profession and its practice, and for shaping social policy.”

In your own words, define integrity as it relates to nursing. Can personal and professional integrity be separated? In other words, can a person have little personal integrity but maintain professional integrity? Why or why not? We will discuss ethical concerns of vulnerable populations at another point in the class. However, briefly note the role of ethics in shaping social policy in health care.

Data Warehouses

Writing Assignment Help Data Warehouses
Regular databases are about storing operational or transactional data. That data is not likely to be manipulated much, but you could have some computational columns in your tables. This is operational data; it should not be changed unless a mistake is discovered. For example, someone could enter information into a form and then realize they typed something wrong. Usually, they would just use the form to correct the error. However, behind-the-scenes, data should not be changed in general.
Now, suppose you wanted to complete some heavy data mining or analysis on the data in these databases. You may want to look at some buying trends, so you will need to examine your transactional data. However, because constant records are being inserted into your transaction tables, you want to take your transaction data and put it somewhere where you can scrutinize it. This is where data warehousing comes in. Many times, you do not want the data in its exact current form in your transaction tables. It may be that you do not want that level of granularity. In other words, you may not want to know every single candy bar that is sold. You may want aggregated data or summarized data. You may want to only look at your cost and sales price. You may not care about tax. Regardless, the data warehouse is the perfect place for you to take your transactional data, put it in a format that fits the needs of your business, and then store it for future analysis.
Moreover, at this point, the data can be used for business intelligence. You may use data mining programs to look for those hidden patterns in your sales tables. Let’s say you own a convenience store. You may want to know that, during the winter, 70% of your coffee sales include a candy bar at the same time. Why would you want to know that? If you know that people are inclined to buy a candy bar when they have coffee, you may want to have a special sale and offer your customers 25% off a candy bar with the sale of a coffee. On a grander scale, you can use big data analytics to obtain information about your business to help you make sound and strategic business decisions. Be sure to read the two resources before proceeding to your assignment regarding the assessment of data warehousing needs.
Scenario:
Your businesses (concierge, consulting, and home office products) have grown and expanded internationally to the point that you must consider a data warehouse to store and manage your data.
Instructions:
For this assignment, you must write a paper explaining the data warehouse options that would be the best fit for the business needs.
Your paper should include the following:
Summarize the growth and structure of your businesses.
Research several data warehousing options and choose a minimum of three that are the best fit to store and manage your data. Describe the capabilities of each of the ones you choose.
Compare and contrast each data warehousing option relevant to your businesses.
Conclude with your best choice to store and manage your data and explain your reasons.
Length: 3-5 pages, not including title and reference pages
References: Include a minimum of 6 quality resources
The completed assignment should address all of the assignment requirements, exhibit evidence of concept knowledge, and demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the content presented in the course. The writing should integrate scholarly resources, reflect academic expectations and current APA version 7 standards (as required).
