The essay will be written in MLA format, Times New Roman, size 12 font, with a works cited page. NO EXCEPTIONS. If your essay is not in the above format, the highest grade you will receive is seventy-five (75) percent. The word count for the research paper is 1500-2000 words. If the word count is below 1500 words, the highest grade you will receive will be fifty (50) percent, for I will consider the essay incomplete. The assignment will be written in academic language. This means that the use of first and second pronouns is forbidden. Furthermore, all contractions need to be spelled out. Your research paper must have works cited page to be considered complete. Without the works cited page, the highest grade you will receive will be fifty (50) percent, and you will not pass the class. The works cited page is different than the annotated bibliography which is due the day after your research paper. This is a course requirement. Furthermore, all sources listed on the works cited page must be referenced in the essay, and vice-versa. Your topic will be education-related, or about your career choice. Please let me if you cannot come up with a topic on your own. I will not accept any other topics unless we have talked about them. If you write on a topic without letting me know, your essay will not be graded, and you will not pass the class. You must have posted your topic on the research topic discussion board, or your paper will not be accepted. You must have three sources. One must be a physical book (your textbook counts as a book) or an eBook, and the other two must be an article from the library database. You may have more than three sources. I must warn you though, be careful with the number of quotes because having too many will drown out your own voice and can be considered plagiarism. The best suggestion I have for you is to use one quote from the assigned number of sources. Topics off Limits: Marijuana (this is different than drugs on campus topic), bullying, or anything that is considered political. If you choose a topic that is off-limits, you will receive a zero for the assignment, and that means you will not pass the class. The due date for this assignment will be November 20.[supanova_question]

English Assignment Help Soundtrack
Friday November 19
For this assignment, you will compile a soundtrack for one of the suggested
stories below. You must find a minimum of two songs, the lyrical content
of which reflects something in the story’s characters, conflict, or theme. You
must cite the story and both songs in MLA format. It must be a minimum of
3 pages long, maximum of 4 pages.
Stories to select from:
• Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been
• A Good Man Is Hard to Find
• This is What It Means to Say Phoenix, Arizona
• Greasy Lake
Avoid including songs that might be referenced in a story. Also avoid
choosing songs based on the sound of the music. For example, Beethoven’s
“Moonlight Sonata” may be an appropriately moody piece, but it has no
lyrics to relate to the story.
Suggestions:
Where are you going: “Already Over”, Red; “Stupid Girl”, Garbage
Phoenix: “Karma”, Sevendust; “Brothers in Arms”, Young Guns
Good Man: “Good Man”, Devour the Day; “Holy”, Pvris
Greasy Lake: “Livin’ After Midnight”, Judas Priest; “Learn My Lesson”, Young
Guns[supanova_question]

This paper will be an 8-10 page argument paper utilizing sources.

This paper will be an 8-10 page argument paper utilizing sources. You are to do it in APA style document and citation style. You can choose from one of the topics I posted on the list on Moodle or you can choose to cover a topic from one of the summaries we have done and write an argument paper from that. Keep in mind, the 8-10 pages do not include the cover page, abstract, references page, or any addendum. You must have a minimum of five references, and no more than 10. Wikipedia is NOT an acceptable source.
Keep in mind that your paper is to present an argument, like all the other argument papers we have done so far in this class. Be sure that you are breaking your paper into clear paragraphs, and that you are also using the Toumlin Method of Claim, Warrant, Data, Counter Claim, and Rebuttal. Refer to Chapter 3 in the text Let’s Get Writing for an explanation of this method as well as Successful College Writing chapter 20 “Writing Arguments”
Be sure to have internal quotations and citations in your paper, a minimum of seven, and that you keep consistent with the citation format–APA.
This paper will include a cover page and an abstract as the front matter and a reference page as the back matter of your paper.
Keep in mind, this paper is worth 60 percent of your grade combined. If this paper is not submitted, you will fail the class.
Here are the deadlines for the paper: (May be subject to change).
Week 1: Choose a topic. Write a 400 word “brainstorm” argument essay in class (like an exit exam) in order to come up with an argument and organizing structure for your paper. After you write this essay, start to do research to back up your opinion and add quotes and sources.
Week 2: In class writing/research session; I will be meeting with students individually to be sure you are on the right track
Library session (Schedule with librarian)
Week 3: Have a full draft of your paper finished. Write your abstract. Proofread with a classmate and your professor–rewrite and revise
