paper, address the following questions: What is the waste? Where does it come from? Why is it a problem? What implication does this have on society? You will need to do some research for this information. You might also interview local disposal site management. Cite all sources appropriately (Note: Milestone Two not be submitted until you have received approval for Milestone One).
Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:
II. Product Need: Provide a description of the waste stream or waste issue, including information on the production of the waste and an explanatioon theeeneed for the product, including how it is used by society.
a. Production: Include details about production of the waste stream or waste issue. Is it generated in a particular place or area? If so, why? Include

detailing of the process.
b. Use: How is this product used by society? Why is it important to society?

Assignment 2
Watch the following video on Yucca Mountain. This video will walk you through the construction of Yucca Mountain. It will also show you how exhaustive the research was that went into the choice of a repository for nuclear waste.
When you have finished watching the video, write a paper explaining how radioactive waste is generated and disposed of. Include a paragraph discussing your opinion on the use and disposal of nuclear energy radioactive waste. You will need to use at least two additional resources other than the video above.
Assignment 3
For this short paper, you will need to monitor the amount and type of trash you and/or your family dispose of for one week. You decide what categories you need: food, paper, plastic, and so on. Once you have your data, post a graph or pie chart showing your findings. You will also respond to the discussion this week, as it is tied to this assignment
Assignment 4
In your initial post, explain what you see as your role in the generation of waste and hypothesize how much waste and the type of waste you and/or your family generate on a weekly basis. Then, discuss the correlation between population and waste production.[supanova_question]

Social: Having the West to remain an area mainly populated as large male society throughout the nineteenth century, the book states that any women in these mining towns “were valued as gold” (Shi, 635). With a male-to-female ratio of 9-1, anytime a ‘respectable’ women walked out of their home, they were gawked out by the men. Women pioneers, however, still faced tradition legal barriers and social prejudices, such as a wife not being able to sell property without her husband’s approval. But, with the constant fight for survival, men and women were practically equal, giving the right to vote to women in the west (also hoping to attract more women to migrate there). The social system of the West, then, set the stage for political advancement for all American women in 1920 with the passage of the 19th Amendment (Lesson 5-19th Amendment).
Political: While women were slowly gaining the right to vote, African Americans were slowly being stripped of their voting rights. Around the 1890’s, white farmers and politicians fought to rid the African Americans of their voting rights and other civil rights. Mississippi took the lead in being the first state to strip the African Americans of their voting rights with a series of state constitutional amendments known as the Mississippi Plan (Shi, 618). The disenfranchisement plan consisted of several different requirements that white registrars had the responsibility of deciding who qualified or not. First, the plan instituted a residence requirement for voting; Second, it disqualified blacks from voting if they committed certain crimes; Third, it made people pay a poll tax along having other taxes paid on time; and lastly, it made it mandatory for readers to be able to read or understand the U.S Constitution.
Intellectual: As the Civil War ended and the Kansas Pacific railway crews were starting to lay rails and ties in the buffalo country of the southern plains, entrepreneurs began to come up with ideas of how buyers and drovers can meet up on equal footing. In the town of Abilene, Kansas, a Joseph G. McCoy bought 250 acres of land for a stockyard and built a barn, an office, scales for the livestock, a hotel and a bank; and set to convince herd owners to go through Abilene, making it become the “first successful cow town” (Shi, 630-631). Also, changing ranching into a major national industry with being able to ship large amounts of cattle by railways. The invention of barbed wire by Joseph Glidden, also was a major game changer, putting many ranchers out of business.[supanova_question]

1800 Word Paper
1. Introduction – Introduce bursitis of the hip (trochanteric bursitis) briefly, from both a western medical perspective & Chinese medicine viewpoint and how Chinese medicine can help. Identify limitations of Chinese medicine as a sole treatment of the condition and discuss how osteopathic and naturopathic approaches to healing could be helpful in aiding in the treatment of the condition as complimentary therapies.
2. Literature review – Explore the research on the condition and the role that Chinese medicine has, as well osteopathy and naturopathy in the treatment/management of the disease.
3. The multi-disciplinary management plan – outlining a 3 month plan of treatment with appropriate frequency and duration of treatment from each modality (Chinese medicine, osteopathy and naturopathy) with goals set and appropriate timeline for re-assessment based on the information found within the literature you have reviewed.
4. Discussion – Justify how all the different health disciplines in the management plan will work alongside each other, (particularly alongside Chinese medicine), to create optimal outcomes for the patient. Discuss how different therapies will help overcome some of the limitations of Chinese medicine that were identified in the introduction. Include in your discussion how an interdisciplinary approach would modify your plan and the benefits this may have.
5. Conclusion – Key points summarised succinctly, connecting it back to how the management plan will overcome limitations of Chinese medicine treatment alone and any recommendations.
Marking Criteria
Introduction –
Major components of the topic are introduced clearly, succinctly and accurately – including a description of the condition from both a western & Chinese medicine approach.
Limitations or weaknesses of Chinese medicine as a stand alone therapy for the condition/patient are highly relevant. Other health disciplines (two or more others) that have a strong role in the treatment of condition/patient are introduced & justified clearly, succinctly & accurately.
Supported and justified by several (more than 3) relevant, high-quality sources.
Literature Review –
A concise, balanced and relevant literature review of significant research findings is presented that covers in depth, the role that Chinese medicine has, as well as the role several additional (three or more) health disciplines can have in the treatment of the condition.
Comprehensively supported by, and referenced extensively with highly significant and relevant research. Well selected search terms and appropriate databases were selected yielding useful results and are stated clearly.
Multidisciplinary Management Plan –
Clear, concise and well thought out treatment plan covering at least three months that is highly relevant and accurately reflects key findings from the literature review. Highly appropriate & accurate time frames given for each therapy.
Discussion –
Clear, concise and accurate discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of each discipline as well as how they will work together in way that directly relates to both the case study and the proposed multidisciplinary treatment plan. Including highly relevant reasons to effectively justify why they have been used in combination.
Clear and concise justification of how each therapy will complement each other and help overcome some of the limitations of Chinese medicine.
Clear and concise discussion of how an interdisciplinary approach would modify the plan and the advantages such an approach would have.
Conclusion –
The key/central point/s of the paper are summarized clearly and succinctly, including key limitations of Chinese medicine as a sole treatment effectively summarised.
Recommendations are made that are specific, well justified and reasonable.
Referencing –
A wide variety of quality sources are employed where relevant to give balanced justification to the paper without exception.[supanova_question]

(Note. Sulfuric acid was used in the video, but in the lab we used phosphoric acid; both acids function as the catalysts for the reaction)
Experimental Procedure
Use the macroscale procedure on page 534 to formulate the steps for the experiment. Additionally, assume the aspirin produced was recrystallized.
For the actual experiment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fww5w381FRQ
Results
Assume the reaction yielded aspirin in 196 mg (before recrystallization) and 183 mg (after recrystallization).
Use these data to calculate the percent yield and recovery. Show all derivations in the result section of your lab report. In your discussion section, explain any anomaly in the result.[supanova_question]
