I wanted to follow-back up on the final project. I have uploaded a new module labeled “FINAL PROJECT”. This module includes a descriiption of the final project “Final Project Assignment Descriiption” which will consist of a 2 paragraph interpretation of data output from a cross-tab analysis.
In this module, you will find the Data Output (or results) from a cross-tab analysis I conducted on 2 variables, religiosity and abortion attitudes. You can read more about this relationship, the data used, and how to actually run a cross-tab analysis in the document labeled, “Final Project – Stats Lab 1”. Although this document is not required for the assignment, it will be useful to help set the context. I would strongly encourage reading.
I also included a few youtube tutorials that describe cross-tab analysis and the chi-squared test for significance.
As far as grading, I am looking for 5 things, 1) decent academic writing, 2) a good explanation of why we are testing to see if there is a relationship between these 2 variables (this is where those citations/references will come in), 3) a short descriiption of the cross-tab analysis and proper interpretation of the data (percentages in the cells), 4) if we reject or fail to reject the null hypothesis: that there is no significant relationship between the 2 variables, and 5) two properly cited scholarly sources within text and a list of references that follow your 2 paragraphs.
Please don’t let this assignment scare you or overwhelm you! Essentially, a cross-tab is a bivariate table. Another way to think of a cross-tab is 2 frequency distributions mashed together. This should be a very short and sweet assignment. Just 2 paragraphs, 3 paragraphs should be the max.
