My team and I decided to observe the Human-Machine Systems in the Publix Deli for this Team Service Project. The group considered several factors to decide on the goals that we would have to pursue with the project’s development. For instance, the effectiveness and efficiency of the Human Service machine to be observed was determined to enable us to decide on the goals. Because the company were very familiar with the Human service Machines, we approached for guidance on establishing the goals that we were planning to achieve. Input from them was essential because the professionals were the people who would take us through the whole process. We had to limit the project’s scope because we only had one choice for the Human Machine System, which was the slicer. To determine which aspects were more important, my team and I developed a list together, and this way, we were able to decide on the project’s primary goals.

Considering that we were working as a team, the team made every decision after carefully consulting each other and determining the course of action for each step. Because of this type of agreement, there were no conflicting goals from the team members. To successfully achieve this, we made sure that the team considered suggestions from each member and all decisions were made as a team. This made the whole process easy for the team, and therefore, we were not required to change the scope of the project as we developed it. The process, in turn, was easy for us, and if I were asked to do another service project, I would consider the same approach. For the future students, I would recommend that as they develop the goals, they will pursue in the project, they should enhance unity in the group and make sure that all the decisions are made as a unit to avoid unnecessary conflict.[supanova_question]

Before you start reading, you might want to familiarize yourself with this exam based upon the articles, so you can hunt down your answers as you read:
White and Hanson discuss the resilience, persistence, and endurance of the American Dream. Why do they feel it has staying power despite major crises like the Great Depression or our own recession? Did it demonstrate that staying power during the Trump presidency and does it continue with us today? Or has it changed? How? You need to be specific and give strong quotations and evidence from the article.
Throughout his article, Gus Speth focuses on 3 dueling dualities. What are they? What does his discussion help readers understand about the American Dream or ideas of the “good life”? Give examples and details to support your discussion, along with strong quotations.
David Kamp argues that the dream has changed radically from its origins (beginnings). What does he say the original intent of the dream was and what does he believe it has come to mean today?
Throughout his article, Kamp discusses some of the transformations the dream has undergone. Focus on 3 of these transformations. Clarify what they are and what they added or took away from the Dream. Be specific and use examples and quotations from the article.
If a minimum word count is helpful, fully developed responses to these questions should come out to between 750 and 1000 words. Read closely and annotate well, and you’ll find your responses come naturally — and feel free to write more if you want!
