Impressionistic artists, on the other hand, often transported their materials outside in order to create paintings while seated in the great outdoors. Similar to nineteenth-century artists, individuals from all over the world have found inspiration in and from nature throughout history!
To continue our exploration of this topic, research and share one artist whose practice highlights the intersection between art and nature in a very direct way. You may select a contemporary artist or an artist from a previous century.
To help with your selection, you may choose any type of visual artist who celebrates or champions the natural world. Our chosen artist could be a painter, sculptor, architect, photographer, and so on. They could paint landscape imagery or design eco-friendly apartment buildings. They could create artworks emphasizing environmental concerns and the negative impact of humans on our planet. They could incorporate themes of nature and natural materials (like dirt, rocks, and leaves) into their works. Or, they could create site-specific environmental works meant to be placed and viewed outdoors.
Do not select a visual artist someone has already covered in the forum. Pick someone new to share instead. To avoid accidentally doubling up, you may wish to “call dibs” early in the week to let everyone know who you are researching.
