Class Participation #5: Alternative Assignment
Questions: What are the Pros and Cons of Dillions Rule and Home Rule on local government actions and abilities.
Your response should be one (1) full page discussing the benefits and/ or negative impacts of the item.
Consider the following:
What are the pros and cons of the item?
Is it a planning application that adds a new business to an existing commercial center? Consider what this business might bring or change about the area.
Is it a new policy, or ordinance change? How will this serve the residents of this jurisdictions.
Do you think the Council or Commission should approve or deny this change or application? Why or why not?
Suggestion: Don’t forget to check the back-up included with the item for any staff reports.

Your finished product should be size 12 font, Times New Roman, and double-spaced. This assignment is worth up to 10 points, which is the same as attending a class.
