Virtual learning in the new generation in higher education.
Lit Review
Virtual learning involves the incorporation of information technology in education. Studies by Kurbakova, Volkova & Kurbakov (2020) highlight the relationship between these two elements where the recent advancements in technology have led to the increasing use of technology in higher learning. The study also surveys different perspectives that have influenced the increased demand for virtual learning to replace in-class learning in the traditional education setting. It is imperative to consider the various elements that have increased the demand for virtual learning. This research cites time as a significant factor considering individuals having multiple jobs and the increased costs of living, hence the cheaper virtual learning. Issues such as movement costs are cited among the leading elements enhancing the spread of virtual learning as a viable alternative. This research is vital in defining the basis of virtual learning as a significant element in higher education.
The coronavirus pandemic has led to significant changes recognized by Toquero (2020) in the analysis of the increased demand for virtual education. Studies by Toquero (2020) highlight that some aspects of traditional learning can be replaced and made into the learning process’s virtual components. The article notes that some lessons can be made into multimedia presentations that are then shared among the learners. The interactions are then placed on various platforms, including zoom, and Google Meet, which are among the most common web learning platforms.
Additionally, other studies such as Annansingh (2019) have questioned the impact of virtual learning on higher education quality. While studies by Annansingh (2019) have highlighted the near similarity between virtual classes and traditional classroom interactions.
Problem Statement
It is not known if higher education has been established as the pinnacle of the learning process. Higher education’s rigorous nature is highlighted in the interactions and engagements between students and the professors guiding their learning. These interactions are majorly established in the classroom setting through students and educators. However, due to various challenges and innovations, virtual learning has emerged as a new learning process. The adoption of virtual learning has not been without consequences on the quality of higher education. Limited interactions between students and instructors, technical challenges, and the lack of interpersonal communication in the virtual classroom have affected education quality. Students and educators need to establish a balance in the virtual and one-on one interaction in every school in higher learning. The feedback from personal interactions is vital in defining the quality of learning outcomes in higher education.

Sample
The sample population considered in this assignment will consist of 15 students from different universities and classes, along with 5educators from different universities teaching different subjects. 5 students will be from among those who have entirely switched to virtual learning; 5 will be from the traditional classroom setup, while the remaining 5 will be from a blended classroom. The blend involves the combination of virtual and class-learning.

Virtual learning is a type of learning that involves the use of computers and the internet in and outside school facilities. The learning consists of the combination of resources, activities, and assessment stages as found in an ordinary classroom, although these are provided in a virtual classroom environment.
Methodology & Design
Phenomenology will be the methodology that will define this research. Therefore, the study will involve the identification and evaluation of the subjective experiences of different learners and a comparison of these experiences in the context of the three different categories of subjects considered in the sample population of this research.
Purpose Statement
In this dissertation I will explore the influence of virtual learning on education experiences among learners in higher education. The goal is to evaluate and determine the potential impact of virtual learning on the quality of higher education based on a comparison of learners’ experiences in different settings.
Data Collection Approach
The data collection process will consider surveys, interviews, and focus groups. The goal is to evaluate the experiences of the respondents in this research.
Data Analysis Approach
A combination of social network analysis, content analysis, and grounded analysis will be used to evaluate the data collected from the respondents in this study.

Course Introduction.
This is a self-study, self-paced introductory course that is designed to familiarize the student with the political and governmental systems of the United States-a political and governmental system that “runs” a country that is, at the same time, the envy and the “thorn in the flesh” of most of the world.
A course in United States Government such as this is important, both for United States citizens and non-citizens alike, if for no other reason than the fact that the United States is the world’s sole super power, arguably, and many of its activities have global effects and implications.
Course Description.
This course is an introduction to United States national government. The course includes an introduction to a framework for understanding United States government and politics, the constitutional basis for United States government and politics, the processes of United States government and politics, the institutions of United States government and politics, and the policies of United States government and politics.
The course covers the major institutions and processes of U.S. Government using the design of the text as a guide. One major strength of the text is that it does not pretend to be anything other than what it is-a basic text that covers the “Foundations,” “Institutions,” and “Politics” of U.S. Government.
The text looks at enduring concepts such as Liberty, Equality and Democracy. It examines the colonial and constitutional foundations of American government and takes notes of inherent constitutional conflicts such as the desire for an effective (read “powerful”) national government versus the need to secure the freedoms and liberties of the people. The role of powerful but “unofficial” participants in the political process such as political parties and the media is discussed. Students will also find that the formal institutions of American government-Congress, the Presidency and the Judiciary are covered.
Course Objectives.
Students:
Will think through and examine their positions on various US governmental and political issues with a view to
“making sense” of them.
Will understand the rules of US government (Federalism, Separation of Powers and Individual Liberties and
Rights),
Will become familiar with the “nuts and bolts” of US government (Congress, the Presidency and the Judiciary) and be introduced to the problem of bureaucracy in a democracy.
A major objective of this course is to encourage student participation in the political process as informed actors.
Grading.
1. Tests:
There will be four tests required. Test one will be over chapters 1, 2, 3, 16, 17; test two on chapters 4-7; test three
on chapters 8-11 and test 4 on chapters 12, 13, 15. Each test will have 25 multiple-choice items [objectives, True
and False, Identification]. Each item will be worth 4 points. Each test will be worth 100 points.
Curve points: Students will have the option to respond to 1 short answer question during each test which will be
worth 7 points. See the pool of short answer possibilities in the test review on Blackboard.
Test Deadlines:
Test I. 7/13 II 7/20 III 7/27 IV 8/3 Make-up or re-test 8/7
You may take a test anytime you are ready to do so but must have a test taken by its deadline. One test “re-test” or “make-up” is allowed. Contact professor at least 48 hours before the make-up/re-test date. In both cases, you will take a different version of the test than was offered online. But, in the case of a re-test, the average will be accepted.
Online Tests
Tests will be taken online in Blackboard. You will have 30 minutes to respond to 25 questions and an optional
short-answer question which will be the curve on the test. Soon after the test deadline, I will grade the test and report your grade on Blackboard. I will be glad to work with students who qualify for special accommodations.
It is probably not feasible or a good idea to attempt to take the tests using a tablet or cell phone. Use a good grade lap top or a desk computer. The entire test must be taken in one setting anywhere you have reliable internet service, therefore students should make sure that enough quiet time is blocked out to start and finish tests in one setting.
Do not be confused by this last statement on the test instructions: “You will be previewing this assessment and your results will not be recorded.” This is the case only if you click “cancel” when you are done reading the instructions. If you click “begin,” however, you would have chosen to begin the test and your results will be recorded even if you do not go on and do the test.
The tests are not meant to be open book tests. You probably will not be able to gainfully game the system in that way. Power outages or surges, “the dog pulled out the power cord,” “lightning struck and fried my computer” and such other excuses for not finishing the tests will be seriously frowned upon.
Again, all grades will be posted on the ACC Blackboard ASAP. Please go to the ACC Blackboard site http://acconline.austincc.edu/ to check your grades.
2. Internet Assignment Paper.
Students will identify, describe and tell the story of a major Act of the US Congress (excluding Amendments of
the US Constitution and treaties) proposed or passed before the beginning of this century, ie before the year 2000.

segment of the outline constitute a paragraph. Use as many paragraphs as necessary per segment.
Intro:
-Read chapter 11 of the text and consult other credible sources about how Congress makes laws
-Briefly state how a bill becomes law or not, emphasizing the role of Congress.
-If it were up to you, what would the process for how a bill becomes law look like?
Body:
-Identify a major Act of the US Congress in history before this century.
-Describe the major Act of the US Congress that you have identified.
-Tell its story.
*Who/what proposed the law? (Individuals, Interest Groups, Organizations etc)
*What was it designed to do? What are/were the issues involved?
*How did the proposal fare in the Congress?
.Did it pass one chamber but not the other? What were the arguments for and against the proposal?
.What were the votes for and against the proposal? Give a sense of the debate in Congress/Media.

Students are strongly advised to seek the help of tutors at the writing lab as all the rules of common writing are
expected to be kept-paragraphing, punctuations, spelling, grammar etc. Students should not be verbose and should
pretend that the reader is a very bright 9th grader.

Students must use at least two (2) internet sources and must document direct quotes or paraphrased
information that are/is included in the papers in the Modern Language Association (MLA) style. For information
about the MLA style or how to cite internet sources, consult the ACC Learning Resource Service’s MLA
Documentation Guide at http://library.austincc.edu/help/MLA/. DO NOT USE HEADERS.
The paper must be at least 3 whole pages in length counting neither the cover page (name, course & class time)
nor the works cited page, both of which are required. It must have one-inch margins (top, bottom, left, and right)
and must utilize the Times New Roman font size 12 ONLY. Papers must be double-spaced.
Papers that violate any of the above requirements will earn no more than 26/40 points.
Students must avoid plagiarism and collusion. See academic dishonesty under Course Policies below. Students
whose paper grade is very substantially different (in the sole judgment of this professor) from their test scores may
be required to visit with me and demonstrate sole authorship of the paper by answering questions about it. Students
who fail to demonstrate sole authorship of their paper will be deemed to have committed scholastic dishonesty and
will be disciplined accordingly per college rules. Due date for the paper is due July 30th Late papers will be penalized 20 points. The paper is worth 40 points.
Submit the paper in Blackboard. It is your responsibility to make sure that the paper can be opened and read.

Course Policies.
Academic Freedom
Each student is strongly encouraged to participate liberally in the discussion forums. In any academic situation
that includes discussion and critical thinking, particularly about political ideas, there are bound to be many differing
viewpoints. Students may freely disagree with each other at times and find that they have disparate views on many
sensitive and volatile topics. It is my hope that these differences will enhance the discussion forums and create an
atmosphere where one and all will be encouraged to think and learn. Therefore, be assured that your grades will not
be adversely affected by any beliefs or ideas expressed in those discussions or in assignments. However, there is a
serious expectation of civility in how you state your views and in how you state your disagreement with the
views of others. Unrepentant offenders will be dropped from the class.
Scholastic Dishonesty
As described in the ACC Student Handbook, scholastic dishonesty constitutes a violation of college rules and
regulations and is punishable according to the procedures outlined in the Handbook. Scholastic dishonesty includes,
but is not limited to, cheating on an exam (either providing answers to or stealing answers from another student),
plagiarism, and collusion. Plagiarism includes use of an author’s words or arguments without attribution.
Collusion is defined as the unauthorized collaboration with another person in preparing written work for fulfillment
of any course requirement. If a student commits any of the above actions, the professor will seek disciplinary action
in the form of an academic penalty (which may include a course grade of ‘F’).

Passing the class, Requirements, Test “Make-ups,” “Incompletes”
53 bonus points are available for the course (7 points during each of the 4 tests and 2 extra-credit
1-page papers worth 5 points each and an optional 4th Discussion Board (DB) worth 15 points.) All 4 tests are
required. So is the internet assignment paper, but only any 3 of the 4 DBs are required. HOWEVER, students who
do not participate in all 4 DBs and fulfil all the other requirements are NOT eligible to do either of the 2
extra-credit papers, or having done so will lose those (up to 10) points.
Students may make-up or re-test one test only on August 7th only. Please contact professor at least 48 hours
before the re-test date. For re-tests, the average will be accepted. “Incompletes” will NOT be given. Students
who fail to fulfill ANY of the requirements above will fail the class.
“Make-up” of DBs are generally not allowed at the sole discretion of the professor except for medical
reasons. If and when allowed, a DB must be made-up only by turning in a 2-page paper with at least 2
sources on the DB question, but for only half of the points originally available. “Make-ups” allowed for
medical reasons are eligible for full credit.
Withdrawals
Students may withdraw themselves from the class anytime during the semester up to the deadline for withdrawals
(August 2nd ) without an academic penalty by filling out the required form with Admissions & Records. I will
not withdraw you from the class for lack of progress. That responsibility lies entirely with you. I may withdraw “no
shows,” that is, students who fail to take tests and participate in DBs.
Discussion Forum Conduct
Discourteous, demeaning, disrespectful and such other entries are unwelcome. Such comments are not
collegial and do not add to a learning environment. Students MUST also avoid the impugning of motives and
name-calling, for the same reasons.
Unrepentant students may be dropped. Students are welcomed to disagree without being disagreeable with one
another or with the professor.
Office Hours
The instructor is eager to help all students achieve their goals for this course. But students must do their part and
communicate by e-mail or voice mail with the instructor regarding any difficulties or challenges with course
materials. Again, Zoom office hours can be arranged.
Course Deadlines and Due Dates:
Students are encouraged and expected to work sufficiently ahead of deadlines so that last minute emergencies or technical problems do not cause them to miss deadlines. Deadlines should not be regarded as mere due dates but as the last possible opportunity an assignment may be submitted. Students with time-management issues and serious problems with procrastination will not do well in this course.

One can argue but so far, the best strategy I have been using is pay per click marketing. Especially platform like Google Adwords. But I must point out influencer marketing was the most successful story. We collaborated with domestic football clubs and made some instagram and facebook campaigns. We had very huge success. Out engagement went crazy, out cite stared having so much more views, people stayed and scrolled on our site 300% more than before, and they spend I think 1000% more money than before influencer campaign.
Please explain which digital marketing strategy helped you in overcoming this uncertainty.
As I said in previous question that was combination of social media platforms and influencer strategy. We posted in the right time, we started our campaigns just before the 2nd lockdown, people really loved campaigns, engagement went crazy. Even those influencers started buying at our stores. Hahaha unbelievable story. I think because of right usage of digital marketing strategies we had our hopes up. Our sales weren’t decreasing. Moreover at some points it started slowly growing which is very successful especially when our stores were closed for some period.
Finally, would you agree that digital marketing can help businesses overcome recession periods?
Yes and no. There is not right answer. There are many cases where businesses failed to use digital marketing strategy during this pandemic and failed. Luckily, with our experienced team we were the ones who used strategy in correct way and overcome the crisis. But bear in mind pandemic is still not over. And in my opinion, we still need to invest funds in digital marketing as still many people are living differently than before pandemic!
Finally, what would you do different if you ever come into the same situation
I wouldn’t spend that much money on email marketing. I would also try to find some other solutions to broaden the scope of our digital marketing strategies.

Can you tell me about your professional background? How long have you been working in marketing industry?
I am working in the marketing industry for now almost more than 10 years. I would say that marketing and proper usage of marketing strategies is crucial part of every business. Therefore, I wanted to work in that industry. I saw potential 10 years ago and I still see it, especially nowadays when world is adapting new technologies every year.
What would you say that best digital marketing strategies are?
There is no best digital strategy. Every business has its own set of strategies. But I need to choose one I would say pay to click marketing or social media marketing
Would you say that digital marketing strategy is necessary for every business?
Yes. It is crucial. Nowadays almost every person is using some sort of technology and businesses must transform some old-fashioned marketing strategies into the digital marketing ones. Also, every person has smartphone nowadays, yeah, yeah it is of crucial importance to use digital marketing strategies.
What are the most effective digital marketing strategies that your company uses?
We use a lot of pay per click marketing. Besides that, we use social media marketing
How important is the role of digital marketing during this Covid-19 crisis?
It is important. But I want to point out this crisis was different than others and at the beginning we were confused as we weren’t sure what is best way to approach this crisis. But we tried our best. Yes, I would say digital marketing, such as email marketing and social media marketing are very important especially nowadays where people are using phones, tables and laptops most of the day.
Would you say that proper understanding of digital marketing can help company emerge from the worst effects of the pandemic?
Every strategy needs to be understood so it can be used properly. So yeah, we underestimated digital marketing and hence we had difficulties. We started using it too late even though people stayed at home and were afraid. Now we are spending most of marketing fund to communicate with people via digital marketing.
What was your way of tackling this crisis? Have digital marketing helped you to deliver effective growth under this huge macroeconomic uncertainty?
We had difficulties, we didn’t see out physical shops closing, we didn’t have e-commerce and we suffered a lot. We tried to change our business online, but it took us 1 year. We weren’t successful. Also, we tried using several digital marketing strategies, but most of the were unsuccessful because we didn’t have online shop, and our physical shops were closed. Even when they opened people were afraid to go in the shops and people due to the uncertainty started saving money, so we didn’t know how to convince them to come to the stores. Later on, when we finally launched e-commerce business, we somehow via email marketing and social media platforms convinced both people to come in physical stores and to purchase online. We are still struggling but we will overcome this crisis. We are regretting that we didn’t use pay to click strategies as some research said it was successful at the beginning of the pandemic.

We are still struggling to overcome this crisis. We suffered a lot; our shops were closed, and we lost lots of revenue. Hence our budgets were constraint. I cannot say which one is the best, but I can say that email marketing was successful. We tried to use social media marketing and we fail. To conclude email marketing was the most profitable strategy.

Company must be stable and have clear goals, I would not claim that just digital marketing can help businesses to overcome covid, but when mixing with other business strategies it is surely crucial department.

Firstly I would open e commerce store straight when there were indications pandemic was happening. Then I would use our marketing budget more carefully, I would invest more money to digital marketing rather than traditional marketing. At the end I want to say. At this point I am still not sure what else I would do differently.

We used many different digital marketing strategies. Seo marketing strategy and pay to click were successful before pandemic but during first three months of pandemic it showed they do not have good results. Our response was to stop doing seo marketing and pay to click strategy and we started doing paid Facebook and YouTube campaigns. That was best move we could do. I mean results showed… for instance our revenue was growing every day and people engagement was enormous. Also, we acquired many new customers. Our brand image improved. All this thank to YouTube and Facebook campaigns. One must say we used email advertising and it also had average impact.

We used social media marketing campaigns. We paid for campaigns on Facebook and YouTube. We came up with interesting ideas how to communicate our message over video campaigns. It was very successful campaign. After YouTube campaign we had biggest number of purchases ever. Campaign was very successful. We spent a lot of money because we collaborated with influencers in our country but anyway it was successful story. Our campaigns were one of the most viewed campaigns in three-month period during 1st lockdown.

Yes, our case is really great way to see that our business grew during pandemic all thanks to the digital marketing strategies. But I want to point out not all of the strategies were and won’t be successful. One need to carefully examine which strategy should be best for given situation and given period.

Maybe to invest more money to different strategy such as influencer marketing. We saw it was very successful, and I think investing more money will help our business to overcome this pandemic even better because people trust influencer and they usually do what influencers suggest.

I am not sure what to answer. When looking around I would say of course it is important. Very important, but I cannot tell you from this crisis how important it is because we didn’t focus just on digital marketing. We had other business strategies which we used to overcome the crisis.

I am working in this industry 9 years and honestly every time when I was thinking this will be easy it is very straightforward, I was wrong and business results weren’t that great. To have successful digital marketing story one need to have deep knowledge and understanding of the market. Furthermore, everything comes with the practice, so mix of knowledge, experience and understanding of the market is the best way to use strategy.

We tackled this crisis surprisingly with small allocation of funds in marketing departments. Other departments like R&D got most of the fund. During crisis company focused on developing new products and services therefore we didn’t have much money to allocate in our campaigns. The amount we had we fairly split between tv marketing and digital marketing such as email and social media marketing.

I wouldn’t say digital marketing strategy helped us overcome recession. I would say new products and services broaden our scope of products, people recognised that and saw our brand value. We mostly use social media platforms, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube adverts to communicate with the consumers which was very successful. We also did many. So yeah if I need to point out what helped us in overcoming recession is social media marketing.

No, digital marketing or traditional marketing are just one departments within corporation which all together help business overcome recession period. During 2008 crisis our company used traditional marketing and that helped overcome. During this crisis we use less traditional marketing since people are using social media and phones more often but it not truth that just digital marketing can help business overcome recession. It needs to be blend of all strategies and all departments needs to work together.
