Focused vs. Comprehensive
I believe this would be a focused assessment because it primarily focuses on focused concerns and specific body systems (Bickley, 2021). With the information provided, the assessment includes chief complaint, symptoms of the complaint, pertinent negatives, and previous medical history. Some of the information I placed in multiple categories because I thought they were pertinent to both. For example, I placed the no fever or changes in vision in both histories of present illness and review of symptoms. This is important for HPI due to pertinent negatives of the patient’s condition. This is also important for the review of symptoms because the patient expressed more details on his HEENT exam.
Other Systems to Assess
Other systems I would assess are HEENT, cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological. In regard to cardiovascular and respiratory, it is important to address these systems for every visit and assessment. Any changes in these two systems could indicate immediate issues or complications. I would also review the neurological system due to the location and severity of the patient’s pain. I would especially want to address the patient’s neurological status such as her alertness and orientation, reflexes, and movement. I would also ask additional questions such as “when did these symptoms start?” and “What helps alleviate the pain?” Another important aspect to research is the patient’s travel experience. She may have gotten ill due to some type of bacterial or viral exposure on the trip.

Theory in Healthcare Informatics
Write an essay addressing the following prompts:
1) Electronic health records (EHRs) are easier to read than the paper charts of the past, but many complain that healthcare providers are focusing too much on the computer screen instead of the patient.
*Is this due to a lack of skill or training, poor computer system design, or just the nature of computer charting?
*Is patient care suffering from the implementation of EHRs?
*Charting in an EHR consist of clicking boxes, do you feel this provides enough detail about the patient, condition, and events if there was a lawsuit?
2)Hebda, Hunter, and Czar (2019) identify three types of data that are currently being tracked by organizations (p. 46).
*Identify and explain another type of data, specific to your practice, that is being tracked by an organization.
-reinfection of active TB within 12 months of prior treatment and Patients that refused Latent TB Infection treatment later infected with active TB Disease.
*Why do you feel this data is important to track?
Identify and discuss the organization that is tracking the data.
*Are there any ethical concerns with an outside organization tracking this data, explain, and give examples?
3)Explain the topic “The Importance of Investing in Nurse Informatics”.
*Provide a descriiption of the selected topic. What is your project, why is it relevant to this class, and why is it important to you?
*Identify an informatics/healthcare theory from pages 29-30 of the textbook that aligns with the project and explain why.[supanova_question]

choose a topic from the list provided to you by your course faculty. Apply the concepts of population health and epidemiology to the topic.
Synthesize Course content from Weeks 1-5 according to the following sections:
Introduction: Analysis of the communicable disease (causes, symptoms, mode of transmission, complications, treatment) to include demographic break down that includes age, gender, race, or other at-risk indicators (da ta per demographics should include mortality, morbidity, incidence, and prevalence).
Determinants of Health: Define, identify and synthesize the determinants of health as related to the development of the infection. Utilize HP2020.
Epidemiological Triad: Identify and describe all elements of the epidemiological triad: Host factors, agent factors (presence or absence), and environmental factors. Utilize the demographic break down to fur ther describe the triad.
Role of the NP: Succinctly define the role of the nurse practitioner according to a national nurse practitioner organization ( National Board of Nursing or AANP, for example) and synthesize the role to the management of infectious diseases (surveillance, primary/secondary/tertiary interventions, reporting, data collecting, data analysis, and follow-up). This includes the integration of a model of practice which supports the implementation of an evidence-based practice. Refer to your course textbook for models of practice examples.
