Median Function – In statistics, the median of a set of values is the value that lies in the middle when the values are arranged in sorted order. If the set has an even number of values, the median is the average of the two middle values.

Your program should start with two arrays of integers containing the following values:

Even numbered array: 17 32 45 68 99 101 67 89 22 27

Odd numbered array: 17 32 45 68 99 101 67 89 22

Using a sort function of your choice, first sort the arrays. NOTE: you may use the Standard Template Library sort function or your own sort function. To use the STL sort:

Then, write a function that determines the median of a sorted array. The function should take an array of numbers and an integer indicating the size of the array and return the median of the values in the array. The same function should be called twice – once for the even array and once for the odd array.

Your program should also have a printArray function that can be used to print the sorted array. (It should be called twice, once for each array). It should be passed the array and its size.

My research topic involves statistics on the number of animals that die due to car crashes in the state of Michigan. Michigan has been reported as the second-highest state in the US, with the highest number of animal/car accidents. This research will aim to find out the causes of these accidents and the possible solutions that can be implemented to address these problems. The study was obtained from three articles.

According to statistics, there was estimated that there would be over 50000 deer/car crashes in the 2020 calendar year in Michigan. This is a huge number of animals to die in car crashes. There are several causes for these such accidents. One problem is that drivers do not heed warning signs. Some drivers are reckless and ignore warning signs intentionally. As a result, they over speed without caring that there may be animals on the road. When they spot the animals, it becomes challenging to swerve and avoid the animal. While at high speed, it is most likely that the driver will lose control of the vehicle rather than avoid causing an accident. This increases the chance of an accident involving the animal that the driver was swerving to avoid hitting.

To complete my research topic, I will read more articles and research that contain information that benefits my topic. The WHO and ProQuest Research Libraries databases offer many articles full of knowledge, numbers, and statistics which will support the research. I plan to have my research drawn from at least 10 articles and magazines to get the hard roots and trusted information.

Next week, I plan to complete my research for my paper. For the Informative Abstract assignment, which is due on October 17, the sources listed above can provide enough background material on my topic. Furthermore, my Formal Topic Proposal will be supported by at least three peer-reviewed and trustworthy sources (due on October 20). During the required Preliminary Bibliography, I will have identified all the sources I require to complete my task by October 27.
